According to the Microsoft Compatibility site, there is currently no support for the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 on Windows 10 Operating Systems. However, when I did a compatibility check before upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, there was no mentionof any conflicting issues and now I am unable to use my webcam. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software and drivers but I keep getting an unexpected error or 'One of the installers for this device cannot perform the installation at this time.'
When trying to update the drivers from the Device Manager. Are there any plans to making this compatible or will I need to purchase a new webcam that is currently Win10 compatible? Hi Davis,Thank you for being part of Windows 10 family.Sorry for the inconvenience, as you have mentioned that driver for Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 is not compatible with Windows 10.

Windows 10 Support for LifeCam VX-3000, got it working august 21, 2015.Howdy All:GOT IT WORKING!!!!I couldn't get my LifeCam vx-3000 to work with windows 10, however I have finally gotten it to work as of today, August 21, 2015.Everytime I tried to install the software it would come up with error, then close out. However I tried this several times and finally just now got it to work, mostly. I'm having trouble getting sound, however the video and picture mode works fine, when Iplay back I get the sound. When I try to just do the audio for a test I get nothing. So, here what I did. I removed the vx-3000 software, then restarted the system, re-installed the software again, got the same error message, but then went to compatability mode, this time instead of clicking windows 7 compatibility I just selected 'I don'tKnow, the system started with WinXP, I hit test, and to my amazement it worked. The camera program came up and the camera lit up and started working.

I recorded a movie, sound everything was there, however when I did the audio only, nothing, no sound. So just for fun I ran compatibility again, selected vista.nothing, selected win 7 and nothing, then win 8, hit test and the camera fired up again, everything working except for just audio record. At least I've gotten this far.So I don't know what the problem is however it appears that windows 10, compatibility mode, selecting all previous windows programs, somehow triggers something from those programs to get it working, I upgraded from win7, however at first it worked in windowsxp, and then windows8 compat. Mode.My camera is on now and working fine, except for audio record. Try this it might work for you. Stupid to put out a new operating system that doesn't support it's product.UPDATE; august 21, 2015 6pm.I just discovered that when I went out of the LifeCam program after recording audio or pics or movie, and go into LifeCam files, I click right click any audio or vid file, open with VLC, and the file plays, both audio and movie file, so this is how I'vegot it working so far.
